17 Mar What is World Oral Health Day and Why is It Important?
Did you know that we celebrate World Health Day every March? This year it is on March 20, but during this month we want to inspire our patients to care more about their mouth health. When your mouth is generally healthy, it is easy to take simple things for granted, like the ability to eat, smile and talk comfortably and confidently. But without the proper oral care, your risk of developing diseases like gum disease and tooth decay is significantly higher. Just, as importantly, poor oral health can affect your general health. We now know it’s connected to many serious health conditions including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and dementia.
This March, we’d like to encourage you to book your dental appointment and checkup with us here at Lethbridge Dental Clinic. Most people need to see us every six months, and during this appointment we can monitor your dental health closely, providing essential dental care at an earlier stage when dental problems are often much easier to treat. We can also talk to you about how to make the most of your preventative dental care routine at home. With proper preventative dentistry, we can help you maintain a healthy mouth quite easily. A good oral care routine typically only takes a few minutes each day, comprising of brushing your teeth at least twice daily and flossing once-a-day.
